Frequently Asked Questions About Bonus Membrane Proof

BONUS PROOF is a high-performance, polyester-reinforced waterproofing product with elastomeric (SBS) additives that provides full adhesion to fresh concrete through concrete pressure and hydration heat. It is designed for single-sided curtain walls, foundations, and deep foundation insulation without requiring protective concrete.

1. How does Bonus Proof adhere to concrete?
Thanks to its advanced formula with high SBS content, Bonus Proof fully adheres to the foundation concrete during the curing process due to the hydration heat generated by the fresh concrete. Its self-adhesive seam structure creates a seamless, monolithic insulation system.

2. How reliable is the Bonus Proof waterproofing application without protective concrete or cover?
Bonus Proof membrane products are -20°C resistant, high SBS-content, elastomeric bituminous waterproofing sheets with high strength. These membranes contain self-healing additives that prevent water leaks, even when punctured or impacted. For this reason, Bonus Proof membranes are more reliable than alternative waterproofing sheets and coating systems.

3. What is the correct method for applying Bonus Proof membranes?
After cleaning the sub-concrete surface in foundations, the membrane is laid lengthwise on the ground in a staggered pattern, leaving 15 cm overlap horizontally and 10 cm vertically. The overlap areas and self-adhesive seams are lightly heated with a torch, and a 10-12 kg roller is used to seal the seams. Once cured, the iron reinforcement can be applied.

4. How does Bonus Proof perform in deeper foundations with high water pressure?
Bonus Proof membranes have been tested in internationally accredited laboratories for their high hydrostatic pressure resistance, demonstrating superior performance in deep foundations with high water pressure. These test results are available in the technical documentation for each product. Additionally, in the event of leaks after application, localized injections allow for easy repairs without removing the entire membrane.

5. How does seawater or saltwater impact the performance of Bonus Proof membranes?
The salinity of ocean water averages around 3.5%, which means each kilogram (or liter) of seawater contains approximately 35 grams of dissolved salt, primarily sodium and chloride ions (Na+ and Cl-). This low concentration has minimal impact on the membrane’s performance and does not compromise its effectiveness.
